Job Description Job Description RELOCATION TO BAKERSFIELD IS REQUIRED Project Manager – Electrical Construction Bakersfield, CA • Full-Time • $110,000 – $145,000 DOE About the Opportunity Innovation Consulting LLC is sourcing an experienced Project Manager for a leading electrical construction firm based in Bakersfield, CA. This is for an urgent role within their project management team. Our client delivers comprehensive electrical construction, engineering, facilities maintenance, utility, sound and communications, energy storage (BESS) and renewable energy services across commercial and industrial markets.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned electrical construction professional to take full ownership of complex and rewarding projects while growing within a well-resourced, established organization. Position Overview Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the Project Manager will oversee all aspects of assigned projects from conception through completion. This individual will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating construction activities while maintaining full financial accountability and ensuring all work meets company performance goals and safety standards.
Essential Responsibilities • Lead all phases of assigned electrical construction projects from inception through closeout • Oversee work assignments and performance of field personnel • Identify and acquire necessary project resources, both internally and externally • Maintain project budgets, scheduling, billing, and collections • Select and manage subcontractors and equipment suppliers • Maintain all required project documentation including permits, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and correspondence • Conduct and attend project meetings, walk-throughs, and progress reviews • Collaborate with foremen on safety compliance and field problem resolution • Perform electrical takeoffs and change order formulation • Confer with owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve work procedures and construction challenges • Ensure compliance with building codes, environmental regulations, and company safety policies • Escalate critical issues to Branch Manager with recommended solutions • Immediate opportunity to lead an active multi-million-dollar battery storage (BESS) project • Build and maintain strong client, subcontractor, vendor, and partner relationships Qualifications • Minimum 5+ years of experience working for an electrical contractor managing Commercial or Industrial construction projects as a Project Manager or Estimator • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or demonstrated equivalent experience • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical installation, contract documents, project estimates, and construction specifications • Understanding of union contract requirements and labor relations • Proficiency in project financial management including billing, cash flow projections, and WIP reporting • NFPA 70E, OSHA, and/or MSHA training preferred Computer Skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) • Advanced working knowledge of ACCUBID or similar estimating software • Working knowledge of Viewpoint or comparable accounting/project management software • Familiarity with AutoCAD and other electrical or construction technical programs Required Attributes • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities • High standards of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail • Self-motivated and effective working independently in a fast-paced environment • Demonstrated ability to manage, supervise, and develop personnel • Ability to build productive working relationships across all levels of an organization Logistics • Full-time, 40 hours per week, based in Bakersfield, CA office • Travel: 10–20% to local job sites • Vehicle allowance or mileage reimbursement provided for job site travel • Relocation assistance will be considered for highly qualified candidates Compensation & Benefits • Salary: $110,000 – $145,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications • Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage • 401(k) with company match • Paid holidays • Educational assistance This search is being conducted by Innovation Consulting LLC on behalf of our client.
