Job Description
On behalf of one of our international clients, a German manufacturer of advanced packaging machinery, we are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Project Manager to oversee the execution of capital equipment and turnkey packaging projects for their North American entity. This role serves as a key interface between customers, internal teams, and the German parent company, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with customer expectations. Main tasks and responsibilities: Own full lifecycle execution of projects from order intake through installation, commissioning, and final payment Manage multiple concurrent projects (typically 1–4) ranging from smaller installations to large turnkey systems Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliverables Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle Build and maintain strong customer relationships Communicate project updates, risks, and milestones clearly and proactively Coordinate closely with internal teams including engineering, service, operations, and sales Collaborate with German headquarters to ensure alignment on technical requirements and timelines Support trade show and booth installation projects as needed Track project progress using internal systems such as MS Dynamics, Teamcenter, and CAD Monitor costs, timelines, and risks, and proactively drive issue resolution Ensure proper documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle Candidate profile: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field preferred 3+ years of project management experience, ideally within capital equipment or custom machinery environments Experience managing capital equipment, automation, or industrial projects required Packaging industry experience is preferred but not required Strong technical understanding with the ability to read layouts and engineering drawings Excellent communication and customer-facing skills Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and structured approach Familiarity with ERP systems and project tracking tools (e.g., MS Dynamics, Teamcenter) preferred PMP or similar certification is a plus
