Job Description
Akkodis is seeking a Project Manager for a Contract job with a client in Walnut Creek, CA . The ideal candidate must have strong experience managing multi-discipline engineering projects within Transmission & Distribution (T&D) environments, including full lifecycle project delivery and client engagement. Rate Range: $80/hour to $88/hour (W2) ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Project Manager job responsibilities include: Manage and oversee end-to-end delivery of multi-discipline engineering projects (Transmission & Substation), including planning, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, and closeout. Develop and monitor project schedules, scope, and budgets, ensuring cost control and timely delivery. Serve as the primary client interface, managing coordination, expectations, and project communications.
Lead project risk management activities, including internal/external risk reviews and collaboration with Legal as needed. Manage project financials, including cost forecasting, accruals, and reporting for leadership and clients. Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring effective utilization of resources and alignment across engineering disciplines.
Oversee project documentation, communication plans, QA/QC compliance, and reporting of schedule, budget, and risks. Support business development efforts, including proposals, client presentations, and contract negotiations. Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to project team members.
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited program. 7+ years of experience in design engineering, including 3+ years managing engineering projects. Proven experience delivering Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects (preferred). Strong experience with project scheduling, cost control, and project management tools.
Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex projects and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong client-facing experience and ability to build long-term business relationships. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
