Purpose We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Vancouver. This role is ideal for an engineering professional with experience supporting the execution of small to medium-sized projects within the energy sector, working in a multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment.
The Project Engineer plays a key role in coordinating engineering activities, supporting project delivery, and ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives. This position bridges technical engineering work with project execution / project management and coordination across disciplines. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Execution Support the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering activities across all project phases (FEED through detailed design and execution).
Assist in the development and tracking of project scope, schedule, and deliverables. Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of design outputs. Monitor progress against schedule and identify potential risks or delays.
Technical Integration Act as a liaison between engineering disciplines to ensure alignment and integration of technical deliverables. Support the review of engineering deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with project requirements. Ensure designs adhere to client specifications, Basis of Design, and applicable codes and standards.
Assist in resolving technical queries and interfacing with discipline leads. Project Controls & Reporting Support cost and schedule tracking activities in collaboration with project controls teams. Assist in preparing project status reports, including progress, risks, and key performance indicators.
Contribute to forecasting and progress measurement activities. Risk & Change Management Identify and communicate project risks and support mitigation planning. Assist in managing changes to scope, schedule, and cost in accordance with project processes.
Support implementation of management of change (MOC) procedures. Stakeholder & Communication Management Maintain clear and consistent communication with project team members, stakeholders, and clients. Support coordination with procurement, construction, and other project functions as required.
Participate in project meetings and document key actions and decisions. Safety & Quality Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Worley’s safety and sustainability policies. Support quality assurance and quality control processes across engineering deliverables.
Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned initiatives. Qualifications – What You Will Bring Technical and Industry Experience Experience supporting engineering project execution within the oil & gas, energy, or related sectors. Understanding of engineering workflows and multidisciplinary project coordination.
Familiarity with project lifecycle phases (FEED through detailed design and execution). Exposure to EPC/EPCM project environments is preferred. Basic understanding of project controls, including scheduling and cost tracking.
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively across teams, functions, and locations.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized institution. Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA or equivalent. Relevant engineering and/or project experience.
Previous experience in a Project Engineering or coordination role is considered an asset. For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $119,299 - $161,405. Application of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
