Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join our team on a new project in Newham, London.

The successful candidate will have strong technical and site-based experience and be capable of managing engineering and documentation requirements throughout the project. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Management and wider design team to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with the project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
  • Preparing and managing ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans).
  • Managing material approvals and ensuring materials meet project specifications.
  • Raising and managing RFIs (Requests for Information).
  • Supporting and managing design coordination between site, design teams and subcontractors.
  • Producing and reviewing technical drawings and information using AutoCAD.
  • Setting out and surveying using Leica Total Stations.
  • Carrying out site inspections and ensuring works are constructed in accordance with drawings, specifications and tolerances.
  • Working closely with subcontractors and site management to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintaining accurate engineering records and ensuring all relevant documentation is kept up to date.
  • Supporting the project team in delivering works safely, efficiently and to programme.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Site Engineer or Project Engineer within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, drawings and specifications.
  • Proven experience producing RAMS, ITPs, RFIs and material approval submissions.
  • Strong design coordination experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in using Leica Total Stations and associated surveying equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
  • A valid CSCS Card is essential.

Desirable Qualifications

The following qualifications would be advantageous:

  • SMSTS.
  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Relevant engineering or construction qualification.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale construction projects.
