What You’ll Do We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic individual to join our team as a Project Engineer. As a member of the Professional Services team, you will be accountable for the end-to-end activities (including design, pricing, project management, and the hands‑on deployment of CoolIT products).
You will work closely with customers, internal stakeholders, and vendors to ensure the seamless execution of ongoing projects. You’ll help support the mentorship of new team members and contribute to the ongoing innovation of how Professional Services offers our engineering support to customers. Responsibilities Project planning and execution: manage day‑to‑day aspects of the project, coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to complete projects on time, within scope and on budget.
Technical expertise: independently design, validate and deliver solutions, ensuring project designs meet required specifications and industry standards and sharing technical guidance with the team. Resource management: allocate resources such as ASP, materials and equipment and ensure efficient use throughout the project lifecycle. Budget compliance: manage the project budget, monitor costs, and make adjustments to avoid overruns.
Quality assurance and compliance: ensure the project meets all regulatory, safety and quality standards. Client interaction: work directly with clients to understand needs and keep them informed of progress, new CoolIT products and best practices for liquid cooling. Risk management: take full ownership of identifying potential risks to the project and communicate mitigation strategies.
Basic Qualifications A Bachelor of Applied Science degree in a relevant engineering discipline and 2‑3 years recent related experience following professional registration; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Membership or eligibility for immediate membership as a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). Sound technical knowledge and an understanding of engineering principles and their application in the relevant discipline.
Ability to provide practical guidance for unusual or problem situations. Proven contract administration and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize series of project components for large complex projects to meet multiple time‑based deliverables requiring a high level of detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team‑oriented environment and resolve disagreements to prevent escalation. Must be open to travel up to 20% and hold a valid passport for international travel. Preferred Qualifications Field engineering experience and/or Data Center related experience from a related field.
Understanding of P&ID drawings, 2D and 3D mechanical pipe design with ability to create, review and approve drawings and models. PMP certification or equivalent. Experience with modelling software like SolidWorks, Revit MEP and/or AutoCAD.
Experience in selling and deploying products in partnership with customers, end‑users and other stakeholders seen as an asset. Skills Project planning and execution: manage medium‑sized projects with minimal support and identify risks. Mechanical design: strong technical knowledge of cooling systems, heat transfer concepts, and mechanical design.
Ability to design complex liquid cooling systems and provide multiple design options. Sales knowledge and support: independently lead technical input in project proposals and quote systems with minimal guidance from senior team members. Communication: excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical concepts.
Product knowledge: well‑rounded knowledge with ability to support and resolve customer cases independently. Customer service: manage project‑related customer communications and support, resolve complex inquiries and build strong relationships. Pricing and budget compliance: independently handle complex RFPs in coordination with sales and service, accurately and on time.
Organization: ability to manage multiple complex projects efficiently. Mentorship: provide mentorship and guidance to new or junior members of the team when called upon. Collaboration: support and be a key member in collaboration efforts with internal and external stakeholders.
