We’re looking for a Project Engineer who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, take ownership, and make an impact across our sites in Ontario and beyond.
This isn’t your typical desk-only engineering role. You’ll be out in the field, supporting installs, solving real problems, and seeing your ideas come to life. What You’ll Do Resolve technical issues during design, engineering, installation, and commissioning, whether it’s a single machine, a full production line, or an entire facility Identify and manage risks, ensuring safety standards are met and potential issues are eliminated before they become problems React efficiently to roadblocks and unforeseen challenges with motivation and creativity to meet deadlines and budgets Lead and execute projects of all sizes, creating schedules, budgets, installation plans, and commissioning timelines with support of project manager Collaborate with stakeholders such as operations, maintenance, procurement, contractors, engineering firms, regulatory agencies, and municipalities Take ownership of multidisciplinary projects with strong business sense, including large-scale greenfield builds, building construction, equipment installation, commissioning, acceptance testing, and project closeout Define project scopes, coordinate request for quotation process, contractor selection and coordination onsite Track progress & report results to the Project manager, adjusting scope, schedule, or budget as needed Confer with project teams to provide technical advice and problem-solving support Oversee technical content of procedures and programming for training purposes What You Bring High motivation to understand deeply any problem to be able to solve it 1–3 years of experience delivering projects on time and on budget Strong design, planning, organization, and communication skills Hands‑on problem solver with a track record of critical thinking and sound judgment High sense of ownership, able to take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project, or equivalent project management tools Willingness to travel and work independently on‑site when required Knowledge of OHSA, building codes, electrical and environmental regulations, and experience working with regulatory agencies Experience in the corrugated or packaging industry What We Offer Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage (dependents included) Teamwork‑focused culture with sustainability initiatives and social events A culture of appreciation through a point‑based recognition Opportunities for advancement and internal movement Education assistance for continuous skill development Academic scholarships for employees’ children Safety equipment and PPE support program Inclusion and Accessibility Atlantic Packaging is committed to fostering an inclusive, accessible and respectful environment for all candidates. Details will be provided through the application process. Hiring Range: $80,000 - $90,000 per year. A candidate’s experience and knowledge may be factored into the pay a candidate receives for this position.
