Project Engineer

Job Title: Project Engineer Job Description We are seeking multiple Project Engineers to join our team and support various dynamic projects across Phoenix, Tucson, and Las Vegas. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a third-generation family-owned company with a significant backlog of work and a strong internal benefits package. Responsibilities Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons.

Implement pre-construction quality plans and manage all necessary construction permits. Develop and maintain essential project documentation, including Material Tracking Lists, Project Test and Inspection Listings, and Non-Conformance Reports. Manage the creation and distribution of contract documents and establish handling procedures for electronic documents such as RFIs.

Oversee all aspects of the testing and inspection processes for construction quality management, including implementing a three-phase inspection system. Manage submittals, ensuring materials are delivered in sync with project schedules and communicate requirements to subcontractors. Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders while incorporating subcontractor documentation into contract revisions.

Build effective relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels, offering coaching and feedback to team members. Coordinate safety and compliance for all team members and maintain project timelines. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, or Architectural Engineering. Commercial construction experience in sectors like healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, sports/entertainment, higher education, and lab/pharma. Strong understanding of construction law and business practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant project management applications. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Ability to interpret company policies and openness to diverse feedback.

Willingness to travel as required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with ground-up construction is preferred. Expereince from a General Contractor (GC) is advantageous.

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple project tasks effectively. Work Environment The role involves working onsite at various project locations, with hours typically ranging from 40-50 per week, depending on project demands. A per diem is provided for those traveling to Tucson or Las Vegas.

Upcoming and current projects include a training facility in Phoenix, student housing in Tucson, and hotel renovations in Las Vegas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $115000.00/yr. Parental leave, 9 paid holidays (New Years Day, MLK, Memorial Day, July 4th, July 5th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, and Christmas Day), PTO, life insurance (paid for by the company), mental health benefits. Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Tempe,AZ.
