Our client is a pioneering climate technology company commercialising breakthrough carbon removal and green hydrogen technologies. Following successful pilot and demonstration deployments, the organisation is now progressing towards commercial-scale implementation and is expanding its engineering and project delivery capabilities to support future global deployments. As the organisation transitions from technology development into commercial execution, they are seeking an experienced Project Delivery Lead to oversee the successful delivery of major capital projects, ensuring engineering partners, contractors, consultants, and vendors execute safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the organisation's technical, commercial, schedule, quality, and operational objectives.

Position: Project Delivery Lead Technology Commercialisation | Capital Projects | Engineering Delivery Location: India ABOUT THE ROLE This is a senior project delivery role responsible for coordinating the successful execution of first-of-a-kind commercial technology deployment projects from Front-End Engineering Design (FEL-3) through detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational handover. This is not a standard capital project - it requires someone who understands the unique challenges of deploying novel technology at commercial scale while safeguarding proprietary intellectual property. Rather than producing detailed engineering designs, you will provide project leadership, engineering governance, delivery assurance, and independent oversight across multidisciplinary engineering teams, EPC partners, consultants, equipment vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Acting as the organisation's trusted representative throughout the project lifecycle, you will ensure engineering execution, construction activities, commissioning, schedule, cost, quality, and operational readiness remain aligned with project objectives while supporting successful commercial deployment of the company's proprietary technology. You will operate with significant autonomy, escalating only critical decisions that require leadership input. WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE UNIQUE First-of-a-Kind Project: You will be delivering a novel seawater electrolysis technology at commercial scale for the first time.

This is not a standard EPC project - it requires creative problem-solving and adaptability. Owner's Representative Role: You will act as the trusted eyes and ears of the organisation's leadership, providing independent oversight and escalation only when critical decisions are required. Global Coordination: You will coordinate across multiple geographies - engineering teams, manufacturing partners in India, and project sites - requiring strong cross-cultural and cross-functional collaboration.

Technology Protection: You will safeguard proprietary technology while working with external engineering partners and contractors, ensuring intellectual property remains protected. Manufacturing Integration: You will coordinate with manufacturing team in India to ensure alignment between component production and plant design/construction. RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Delivery & Engineering Leadership Lead the successful execution of commercial technology deployment projects from FEL-3 through commissioning and operational handover.

Coordinate engineering consultants, EPC partners, contractors, equipment vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and operational objectives remain aligned with project requirements. Provide independent, trusted oversight across all project phases while safeguarding the organisation's proprietary technology and intellectual property.

Operate with significant autonomy, escalating only critical decisions that require leadership input. Support project governance, decision-making, and timely resolution of technical and commercial issues. Procurement, Contracts & Vendor Coordination Support procurement activities covering long-lead equipment, technology packages, major contracts, and engineering services. Review procurement strategies, technical bid evaluations, contract recommendations, supplier performance, and manufacturing progress. Coordinate closely with vendors, suppliers, fabricators, logistics providers, and project teams to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.

Monitor manufacturing progress, expediting activities, and supplier commitments to minimise project risks. Construction, Site Execution & Commissioning Monitor construction progress, contractor performance, site execution, quality, safety, inspection activities, and schedule adherence. Coordinate engineering interfaces during construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and startup.

Oversee management of engineering changes, field issues, RFIs, technical clarifications, punch lists, and project close-out activities. Support commissioning planning, operational readiness, performance testing, mechanical completion, and successful transition into plant operations. Coordinate with Equatic's manufacturing team in India to ensure alignment between component production and plant design/construction.

Project Controls, Risk & Performance Management Monitor integrated project schedules, milestone achievement, project costs, budget performance, and overall project execution. Maintain project risk registers, action logs, decision registers, issue trackers, and change management processes. Review variation orders, change requests, contractor claims, payment milestones, and recovery plans.

Prepare regular project reports highlighting progress, risks, mitigation plans, key decisions, commercial impacts, and overall project status for leadership. Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management Build strong working relationships across engineering, process engineering, procurement, construction, manufacturing, operations, commissioning, and executive leadership teams. Coordinate multiple external engineering partners and contractors while ensuring clear communication, accountability, and timely decision-making.

Facilitate project meetings, technical reviews, governance forums, and stakeholder updates throughout the project lifecycle. Communicate complex technical and commercial matters clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, Process Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Approximately 12 years or more of experience delivering large-scale capital projects within industrial, manufacturing, energy, process plant, infrastructure, EPC, EPCM, or technology commercialisation environments. Experience delivering first-of-a-kind (FOAK) or deep-tech commercial facilities is essential. Demonstrated experience managing projects from FEED/FEL through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational handover.

Strong understanding of project governance, engineering management, project controls, schedule management, cost management, risk management, contract administration, and change management. Experience coordinating engineering consultants, EPC or EPCM contractors, construction contractors, equipment vendors, multidisciplinary engineering teams, and external stakeholders. Sound understanding of construction management, commissioning, startup, operational readiness, quality management, and HSE requirements within industrial project environments.

Proven ability to operate autonomously and make independent decisions while knowing when to escalate to leadership. Demonstrated commercial acumen with experience reviewing cost estimates, progress payments, and change requests on major capital projects. Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.

Comfortable operating within fast-paced, technology-driven organisations transitioning from pilot-scale development to commercial deployment. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to engineering partners, supplier facilities, fabrication sites, construction locations, and project sites as required. HIGHLY ADVANTAGEOUS: Experience within one or more of the following sectors would be highly regarded: Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, Green Energy, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Electrochemical Manufacturing, Water Treatment / Desalination, Chemical Processing Industrial Manufacturing, Process Plants, Energy Infrastructure, Power Generation Experience delivering first-of-a-kind (FOAK) projects , technology commercialisation, pilot-to-commercial scale-up, FEL / FEED engineering, commissioning, startup, operational readiness, or recognised project management certifications (e.g.
