Job Description
Primary Location: CA - London, ON - 250 York St Compensation: CAD 65000 - CAD 85000 per year Project Archaeologist AECOM’s Cultural Resources Team is seeking an experienced Project Archaeologist to work out of any one of our Ontario AECOM Offices. The successful candidate will assist in managing, coordinating, and completing archaeological assessments and reporting in accordance with provincial standards. Responsibilities Support the management of projects from proposal to report completion.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams for successful delivery. Meet client scope, budget and schedule expectations. Work with clients, subcontractors and Indigenous partners.
Prepare archaeological reports in compliance with MCM standards. Utilize the MCM Past Portal for archaeology and heritage documentation. Prepare and implement field health and safety materials.
Demonstrate attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills. Work effectively as part of a team and independently. Apply knowledge of pre‑contact and historic artifacts in Ontario.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field 2+ years of experience in archaeological consulting or similar role Valid Ontario MCM Research or Professional Archaeology licence Familiarity with MCM Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists Experience supporting fieldwork and basic data collection Ability to coordinate logistics for field activities and teams Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications 4+ years of archaeological consulting experience Experience preparing or contributing to reports as listed author Prior project coordination or management experience Experience working with Indigenous communities or stakeholders Proficiency with the MCM Past Portal Experience managing multiple field crews or complex programs Deep understanding of Ontario pre‑contact and historic artifacts Experience tracking field effort and managing datasets Exposure to regulatory compliance and heritage permitting processes Benefits AECOM offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, life, disability benefits, paid time off, and retirement savings options.
