Job Description
Production Manager Location: Co. Tipperary Reporting To: Senior Leadership Team / Managing Director Optimize Recruitment are proud to be partnering with our client, a growing organisation operating a modern manufacturing and processing facility in Co. Tipperary.
This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing production and operational performance, developing efficient processes, leading teams and supporting the continued development of the facility. The Successful Candidate Will Have: A relevant degree or qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Food Science, Biotechnology, Operations Management or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years' experience in a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Plant Manager or similar senior leadership role.
Proven experience improving productivity, efficiency, output and operational performance within a manufacturing environment. Strong people management and leadership experience. Experience with maintenance planning, facilities management and continuous improvement.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP and relevant quality, safety and regulatory standards. Good understanding of CIP systems and industrial processing environments. Excellent leadership, organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance operational performance and business objectives. Experience within food production, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, dairy processing, fermentation or a related sector would be advantageous. Responsibilities & Duties: Lead the day-to-day operation of the production facility, ensuring safe, efficient and consistent manufacturing performance.
Plan, coordinate and control production activities, including workflow, resources, personnel and production scheduling. Drive improvements in production output, efficiency, yield, downtime and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Develop and implement production processes, procedures and performance standards to support current and future operational requirements.
Oversee facility, equipment and maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance programmes and contractor management. Lead, develop and motivate production and operational teams, promoting a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, quality, health & safety and relevant regulatory requirements.
Monitor and report on key operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where required. Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives across production, facilities and operational activities. Work closely with senior management and other departments to support operational development, facility improvements and future expansion.
