Job Overview

The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading strategic sourcing initiatives for direct raw material categories across Rheem’s global operations. Reporting into the Operations organization, this role focuses on developing and executing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost and performance improvements across the supply chain. The position requires strong cross‑functional collaboration and a deep understanding of sourcing, logistics, and supply chain planning.

This position will support our Enterprise division in Atlanta, GA (Onsite).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute global category strategies that align with operational goals, mitigate supply risk, and ensure business continuity.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers, issue RFQs, and evaluate proposals using structured selection criteria to optimize and rationalize the global supply base.
  • Lead cost productivity initiatives to deliver year‑over‑year savings through sourcing optimization, supplier collaboration, and value engineering.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial agreements, including Master Supply Agreements, to secure favorable terms and reduce risk exposure.
  • Manage supplier performance through structured business reviews, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to obtain and assess information on pricing, capacity, lead times, and delivery schedules to support planning and operations.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams—including Planning, Materials, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics—to resolve issues and drive supply chain performance.
  • Support quality improvement efforts by working with suppliers and internal teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor market trends and commodity dynamics to proactively adjust sourcing strategies and respond to supply disruptions.
  • Travel as needed to visit Rheem manufacturing facilities and supplier operations, both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a focus on direct raw materials.
  • Demonstrated success in category management and driving supply chain performance improvements.
  • Experience with domestic and international sourcing and supplier relationship management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing pricing and contract terms.
  • Broad knowledge of supply chain functions, including planning, materials, logistics, and operations.
  • Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sourcing tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience in the Steel Industry or in Steel Sourcing.
