Position Summary
Our client, a leading cosmetics manufacturer, is actively recruiting for an experienced Procurement Manager to handle direct procurement responsibilities. The position is responsible for directing and leading procurement and commodity activities across North America, while leveraging global opportunities. Ensure compliance to strategic sourcing process to optimize and enhance overall supplier's contract value.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategic procurement roadmaps based on business needs and supplier landscape.
- Lead Negotiation - price, payment terms, MOQs, lead-time.
- Work with plants and suppliers to determine supply chain inventory levels & flexibility models to accommodate demand and supply normal variation.
- Contracts: Define the conditions of order, delivery, payment etc.; draw up a purchase contract including all the necessary technical, economic and legal guarantees.
- Manage key supplier relationships to improve Performance Management (Supplier Scorecard. QBRs, audits).
- Establish process for competitive bidding, RFX management, make vs buy and should cost models.
- Product & business development: Sourcing new packaging suppliers or subcontractors that meets customer request.
- CSR: lead, support and implement CSR strategy (reduce environmental impacts of our supplies, secure full traceability of our supply chain, improve CSR score of our strategic suppliers).
- Drive sustainability actions and reporting in the supplier base.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in leading commodity/category management teams.
- Direct procurement experience required; preferably with packaging or other components.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Ability and willingness to travel (5-10%).
- Deep understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain process.
- Disciplined negotiator: supplier relationship management, able to balance cost, terms, supply flexibility, quality, and legal requirements.
- Strong project management skills and ability to partner cross functionally.
- Understand total cost of ownership.
- Strategic, innovative thinker and problem solver.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Agility with manufacturing cost structure analysis.
