We are looking for an intelligent, highly motivated, positive, and results-oriented Procurement Manager in Frederick, MD. The Procurement team is responsible for sourcing all direct and indirect materials for NVR. This team works across all functional areas within NVR and NVR’s supply base to drive improvement in quality, service, efficiency and cost.

As a Procurement Manager, you will manage select contractors, distributors, and suppliers, while supporting NVR’s procurement team. You will interact with eleven (11) Manufacturing Plants, Homebuilding Operations, along with senior leaders and executive teams of our major suppliers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute supply base rationalization strategies to enhance strategic supplier partnerships at a national and regional level to meet NVR’s improvement and growth targets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and demonstrate ability to translate that relationship into value added business programs impacting quality, service, safety and cost.
  • Develop existing and new suppliers to provide the necessary materials to Homebuilding Operations and Building Products.
  • Interface with Architectural Services, Homebuilding Operations, Building Products, and Sales & Marketing teams to drive change and implementation of new programs and products.
  • Implement best practices and/or utilize progressive tactics to drive improvement within the supply chain and operations.
  • Focus on enhancing customer service, both internal and external.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of procurement or home building related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • History of strong negotiation skills in dealing assertively and with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
  • Proven project management skillsets in developing and implementing change management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, decision‑making and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and negotiate contract terms and conditions.
  • Self‑managing; works well with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all organizational levels and suppliers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills.
