Senior Procurement Manager – Capital Projects (Capex)
Are you a strategic procurement leader with experience delivering high-value capital projects? This is an opportunity to join a leading organisation within the waste management and resource recovery sector, playing a key role in shaping large-scale investment across UK & Ireland operations.
About the Role:
As Senior Procurement Manager – Capital Projects (Capex), you will lead the end-to-end commercial lifecycle of capital investment. This includes major equipment, fleet, plant, and infrastructure projects—ensuring all investments deliver measurable value, support safe operations, and drive long-term, sustainable EBITDA.
You’ll operate within a transforming procurement environment, helping embed stronger systems, governance, and data-driven decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and deliver the Capex sourcing and category strategy
- Lead complex, high-value negotiations across engineering, equipment & construction
- Drive ROI through total cost of ownership and value engineering
- Partner with operations, engineering & finance to define robust specifications
- Ensure supplier performance meets strict safety, quality & compliance standards
- Support procurement transformation through systems and process improvements
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience managing large-scale Capex in complex, operational environments
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering value and cost control
- Experience negotiating engineering, equipment, or construction contracts
- Ability to translate technical requirements into commercial solutions
- Confident stakeholder manager, comfortable engaging at all levels
Experience in waste management, utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing, or heavy industry is highly desirable.
