As a Procurement Manager, within our Strategic Acquisition Office, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of all GDIT customers. In this role you will lead a team of acquisition personnel responsible for sourcing, evaluating, purchasing and renewing on-premises and cloud-based software in full compliance with government procurement standards for both GDIT internal and government customers.
Key Responsibilities
Leading a procurement-focused team of 5–8 specialists responsible for full lifecycle software purchasing, licensing, renewals, and compliance. To include agreement negotiations and sourcing strategy management.
Manage all software acquisition activities for both internal GDIT systems and external customer program needs, ensuring adherence to FAR/DFARS and corporate supply chain policies.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies, including market research, supplier evaluations, competitive bidding, and cost/price analysis.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage the team’s workload, priorities, and performance while providing ongoing training, coaching, and development; drive process improvements and build the team’s skill set to enhance capability, efficiency, and compliance.
Manage Develop and execute sourcing strategies, including market research, supplier evaluations, competitive bidding, and cost/price analysis.
Oversee preparation of procurement documentation to ensure the team is meeting all direct acquisition requirements, mitigating risk by negotiating terms and conditions, and driving cost savings. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.
Negotiate software agreements, renewals, and license terms with suppliers, ensuring favorable pricing, compliance, and risk mitigation. Oversee compliance with federal regulations, internal controls, export controls, and all required documentation for auditability.
Maintain a strong understanding of software licensing models (SaaS, subscription, perpetual, metered usage, enterprise agreements, and program‑specific licensing).
Ensure alignment of all software purchases with cybersecurity, data protection, and cloud governance requirements.
Drive process improvements, standardization, and best practices for software sourcing and lifecycle management.
Maintain strong, professional relationships with vendors and ensure alignment with company values and expectations.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree or 4+ additional years of relevent experience in lieu of a degree
5+ years of relevant experience in supply chain, government procurement, or contract negotiation
Understanding and experience with government contracting and FAR governed procurement policies
Prior team leadership, project management or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Experience with vendor negotiations, sourcing, RFP management, and contract review preferred
Demonstrates professionalism and maintains composure in fast‑paced or high‑pressure situations
Approaches challenges calmly and constructively, focusing on solutions
Drives tasks and projects to completion with strong ownership and follow‑through
Communicates clearly and respectfully with both internal and external stakeholders

Preferred: People/team management experience
US citizenship required due to the nature of the contracts supported.
This is a hybrid role and requires the employee to be in the Herndon or Falls Church, VA office 3+ days a week

Salary
The likely salary range for this position is $107,744 - $110,400. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
