Job Description
Aston Carter is seeking a Procurement Manager for a 2‑year project based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of procurement experience, including 3–5 years managing CapEx projects. This role will oversee procurement for projects ranging from $1M to $50M across North and South America.
The position requires some travel to other sites a few times per month, so candidates must be flexible with travel.
Job Description
The role of the Procurement Manager is to lead all procurement aspects of major capital projects, ensuring strategies are aligned and executed to meet objectives for safety, schedule, quality, and cost, while complying with corporate procurement processes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement project procurement strategies at critical stage gates.
- Manage tendering, negotiations, and contract awards for long‑lead items and full procurement scope.
- Coordinate with Project Management, Category Managers, EPCm partners, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with procurement tools, processes, and standards.
- Oversee vendor and contractor performance, resolve claims, and mitigate risks.
- Monitor project cash flow and procurement‑related KPIs.
- Support audits and maintain transparent documentation of decisions.
- Manage procurement for projects ranging from $1M to $50M across Oklahoma, and possibly North and South America.
- Engage internal category managers and buyers, and interface with global suppliers.
- Travel as required for supplier visits and project needs.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of procurement experience in CapEx projects, ideally multi‑million dollar projects.
- Proficiency in contracting, tendering processes, and procurement management.
- Strong communication skills to navigate a matrix organization.
- Ability to manage tasks independently with limited supervision.
- Expertise in contracting standards and negotiating contracts.
- Skilled in spreadsheeting, data analysis, and challenging the status quo.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Capex projects and understanding of local and construction markets is required.
- Familiarity with SAP, ERP, and vendor management.
- Ability to interface with engineering teams worldwide.
- Flexibility with time and travel.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Catoosa, OK.
Pay & Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
