What Youll Be Doing (position summary):
The Processing Officer, IBP AutoPost is responsible for processing financial and non-financial transactions related to account maintenance, customer deposits, suspense account entries, adjustments, wires, and transfers. The role ensures all transactions are verified, compliant with agreements, and accurately reported, using independent judgment and standard procedures. The Officer is accountable for achieving productivity targets and meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements (SLAs) while supporting the organizations operational excellence and customer satisfaction goals.

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities):
- Receive transaction requests and verify information against CIBCs book of record
- Escalate non-conforming requests or those exceeding dollar limits to appropriate authorities for authorization
- Complete clerical duties such as electronic filing, data entry, and modifying spreadsheets to support the department
- Stay updated on changes to products, services, rules, and regulations to ensure accurate processing and quality assurance
- Process incoming requests efficiently and in compliance with procedures to meet SLAs and deliver high customer service levels
- Prioritize and organize workload based on risk, severity, and required documentation to ensure deadlines are met
- Train new and temporary staff on procedures and guidelines to ensure knowledge transfer and process consistency
- Cross-train in other roles to assist or support team members during peak periods or as needed to meet SLAs
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance client satisfaction
- Interpret exception items and escalate as appropriate, considering customer impact
- Maintain regular contact with internal teams and departments to obtain, provide, and clarify information

- As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
JOB DIMENSIONS:
- This role supports regional Commercial Banking and Capital Markets clients, directly influencing client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and service quality
Experience: 2+ years of experience
Who You Are (skills/qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered
- 2+ years of experience in a branch banking environment or items processing environment
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
Must Have Skills:
- Experience in operations, or items processing environment is preferred
- Knowledge of internal CIBC systems and applications (e.g., COINS), with strong keyboarding and data entry skills
- Basic accounting and numerical skills, including the ability to understand and apply formulas when calculating amounts
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly express ideas and share information
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize routine daily work and manage tasks effectively in a high-volume environment
- Ability to exercise sound independent judgment within established procedures and recognize when escalation is required
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain productivity and accuracy while completing tasks within established timelines
- Ability to assess priorities and manage detailed, factual information while meeting or exceeding client expectations
- Problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify alternative solutions for requests that are not straightforward
- Understanding of regulatory, governance, and compliance requirements, with the ability to consistently apply CIBC policies, programs, and standards in day-to-day work
