The Process Engineer will be responsible for optimizing production processes, ensuring high-quality output, and improving operational efficiency.
This position focuses on key metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), production rate, scrap rate, and cycle time, among others. Key Responsibilities: Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE): Monitor, analyze, and improve OEE by addressing factors such as availability, performance, and quality. Implement strategies to reduce downtime, increase machine efficiency, and ensure optimal equipment use.
Use OEE formula to track progress and identify areas for improvement (OEE = Availability ร Performance ร Quality). Production Rate: Ensure production rates meet or exceed set targets by optimizing workflows, machinery, and labor. Regularly assess production speed and capacity to maintain and improve operational throughput.
Scrap Rate Reduction: Monitor and minimize scrap rates by implementing quality control measures and refining production processes. Investigate root causes of material waste and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material usage. Cycle Time Optimization: Analyze and reduce cycle times to increase production output without compromising quality.
Streamline production processes to ensure faster turnarounds and efficient manufacturing. Downtime Management: Track, report, and minimize downtime due to equipment failure, maintenance, or operational issues. Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to develop preventive maintenance schedules and minimize production interruptions.
Capacity Utilization: Analyze and optimize capacity utilization by ensuring that the production lines are working at their highest possible efficiency. Formula for analysis: Capacity Utilization = (Actual Output / Maximum Possible Output) ร 100%. On-Time Delivery Rate: Ensure production schedules are met to achieve high on-time delivery rates.
Work closely with supply chain and logistics teams to coordinate production timelines with customer delivery expectations. Cost per Unit: Identify cost-saving opportunities by streamlining production processes, reducing scrap, and improving labor efficiency. Regularly assess cost per unit and implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining product quality.
Employee Productivity: Measure and enhance employee productivity by optimizing work schedules, training, and resource allocation. Use metrics such as units produced per labor hour to evaluate performance and identify training needs. Quality Assurance Metrics: Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to reduce defect rates and improve product reliability.
Address customer complaints and returns by investigating and solving root causes, ensuring consistent product quality. Lead Time Reduction: Continuously work on reducing lead times from order placement to product delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory levels and improve manufacturing scheduling.
Qualifications: BE or Diploma Minimum 5-7 years of experience for BE Diploma - 8-11 years Strong analytical skills with proficiency in OEE, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. Hands-on experience with process improvement tools and methodologies. Excellent communication and project management skills.
