Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer for our Virginia Beach office. As part of our design and process teams, you will work on water and wastewater projects, including drinking water/wastewater/reuse treatment facility upgrades, conveyance systems, wellfields, dams, and asset management. Key Responsibilities:

* Participation in the evaluation, planning, and design of water, wastewater, dams, reuse, and infrastructure projects * Participation in a project team from the initial study and conceptual design stages through to the construction of major water related infrastructure projects * Fieldwork and site visits from design through construction may be required * Other responsibilities may include:

* Project management of a large project or several small projects * Client development and management supported by our local offices * Planning, organizing, and supervising staff of engineers on projects

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering * PE license * Strong interest in the water/wastewater industry * Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail * Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite * 5-12 years of experience in planning, design, or construction of water-related projects * Experience related to preparing conceptual/feasibility studies, development of construction drawings and specifications, bidding assistance, and support of office and field-related construction services * Familiarity with engineering and construction management software * Capable of supervising staff and managing small projects

Preferred Qualifications:

* Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering Proficiency in GIS, CAD/BIM, BioWin, PowerBI, and databases * Conducts self-quality reviews before submitting work for additional QA/QC
