Overview Omnidian, Inc. is a fast-growing Series C tech-enabled service company revolutionizing performance assurance for the distributed solar and energy storage industries. The Job description is for a Principal Engineer who will serve as a key technical advisor and architect for the engineering organization, reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering. The role focuses on optimizing software development and ensuring platform architecture scales, with emphasis on navigating AWS, Kotlin, and React ecosystems during a high growth phase. Responsibilities Act as a technical advisor and architect for the engineering organization Drive architectural direction and productivity by crafting RFCs and building cross-team consensus Moderate complex technical decisions and facilitate high-stakes discussions Lead with a culture of quality and deliver architectural solutions that enable faster, safer deployments and better user experiences Collaborate across teams to address ambiguous challenges and scale the platform Who You Are You are an Influencer: proactively research technologies and drive direction with consensus across teams You are a Technical Diplomat: consult teams on technical decisions and moderate discussions You are a Builder: create a culture of quality from a blank slate You Value Impact Over Activity: focus on meaningful architectural outcomes You are an AI Native: understand AI/LLMs in SDLC and help others adopt AI-assisted workflows Experience You’ll Need Proven ability to lead through influence as a Lead or Principal Engineer with large-scale initiatives Technical breadth in Kotlin (JVM), React (TypeScript), AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), and databases Experience with large, globally scaled distributed systems AI First: experience integrating AI/LLMs into developer workflows and product features 10+ years of software engineering with focus on platform architecture and developer experience Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience Experience That’s a Plus Global collaboration with international teams and complex technical projects Security & Compliance familiarity with SOC2 and security-focused testing Domain knowledge in solar industry or O&M software Work-Life & Culture Most roles offer remote work; Seattle area has a vibrant office in Smith Tower Local gathering opportunities and proximity to employee clusters Benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k) with match, and paid time off 12 weeks paid parental leave after 1 year; 4 weeks paid sabbatical after 4 years Competitive compensation with health premiums, bonuses, and stock options Active internal communities and affinity groups Privacy & Diversity California-based candidates: please view our California Job Candidate Privacy Policy.
