Market Square Surgery, Kinvara, Co. Galway : General Practice Nurse

Market Square Surgery in Kinvara are looking for a GPN to join our friendly and supportive team .

It will be to two full days a week with a possibility of more hours in the future.

Our practice team currently includes 2 General Practitioners & we are currently interviewing for a 3rd. The other members of our Practice are our Practice Manager, receptionist and Practice Nurse

ROLE OVERVIEW

The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering patient-centred care across a wide range of general practice nursing services. Previous experience in general practice and familiarity with Socrates practice management software would be an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administration of childhood, adult, and travel vaccinations
• Participation in the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Programme
• Phlebotomy and specimen collection
• Health promotion, screening, and patient education
• Wound care and basic clinical procedures
• Carry out cervical smear test
• Supporting preventative care initiatives
• Maintaining accurate clinical records using practice software
• Working collaboratively with GPs and the wider practice team
• Ensuring high standards of infection control and patient safety.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Registered General Nurse with current registration with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland)
• Relevant nursing qualifications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care

Pay: €22.54-€32.71 per hour

Work Location: In person
