Overview
In this role you will own the development of Argus Analytics' long-term power forecasting capability, shaping market views and price outlooks. You will lead modelling efforts, translate outputs into client-ready insights, and collaborate across Argus services to ensure cohesive power market perspectives. You’ll act as a domain expert for Europe’s power sector, contributing to product development and the firm’s analytics growth.

- Develop and continuously improve fundamental power market models (supply, demand, dispatch, price formation)
- Lead the production of forward curves and long-term outlooks
- Custodian of knowledge on major power market drivers and risks (policy, fuel pricing, capacity shifts)
- Design and deliver client-facing deliverables (reports, consulting, presentations)
- Own specific market segments (e.g., Germany, UK, Iberia)
- Interlink with other Argus services to ensure consistent market views
- Collaborate with Project Consulting and other Analytics teams to share knowledge
- Contribute to Argus’s view on power markets development through energy transition
- Degree-level education (2.1 or above) from a leading university; Masters a plus
- 5+ years in Power markets with strong operational understanding
- Experience with third-party Energy Modelling Software is beneficial
- Highly numerate with experience handling large datasets and strong attention to detail
- Structured problem solving and strong analytical skills
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong IT skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of R is an advantage
