PostgreSQL Migration Developer / Consultant — Short-Term Remote Contract

Datrick is looking for a PostgreSQL Migration Developer / Consultant for a short-term remote contract. We need someone who can support a client’s transition from MS SQL to PostgreSQL as part of an infrastructure consolidation project. This is a hands-on role focused on development support, migration assistance, QA/testing, troubleshooting, and query/database optimization.

Responsibilities Support MS SQL to PostgreSQL transition work Help convert or adapt database logic, queries, schemas, and application-facing DB components Assist with PostgreSQL development and troubleshooting Support QA, testing, and validation during the migration process Review and optimize PostgreSQL queries, indexes, and performance issues Work with the technical team to understand current architecture, target architecture, and migration risks Communicate clearly in writing and document findings/actions Requirements Strong PostgreSQL development experience Hands-on experience with MS SQL to PostgreSQL migration Good understanding of T-SQL and PostgreSQL syntax differences Experience with schema migration, stored procedures/functions, query tuning, and indexing Comfortable working in Linux-based environments Ability to start quickly and work independently Strong written English communication Nice to have Multi-tenant database architecture experience Application migration experience involving database compatibility issues DBA or database performance engineering background Experience with cloud environments such as AWS Contract details Remote Short-term contract Immediate start preferred Expected duration: through late June 2026, with possible extension Part-time or full-time availability can be considered depending on fit To apply, please share your CV or LinkedIn profile and briefly describe one MS SQL to PostgreSQL migration project you have worked on.
