Overview

In this role you will manage a portfolio of clients within a property management context, ensuring timely accounting services and compliance with management agreements. You will collaborate with the Team Leader and Head of Portfolio Accounting to deliver accurate reporting, year-end processes, budgets, and client communications. The position focuses on precise financial reconciliations, budget reviews, and the preparation of statutory and regulatory submissions.

This is a hands-on, deadline-driven role that supports client service and cross-functional workflows in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Answering and triaging queries via the main accounts line and email
  • Maintaining client portfolio year-end schedules and providing regular updates to leadership
  • Assisting with annual service charge budgets and ten-year maintenance plans (including review in Dwellant)
  • Coordinating billings and direct debits in line with client leases
  • Preparing monthly client reports (computer-generated or bespoke Excel reports)
  • Reconciling client bank accounts and funds; issuing transfers as needed
  • Producing quarterly financial reports and balances for clients/properties within 14 days of quarter end
  • Year-end procedures including budget vs expenditure reporting, reconciliations, and supporting documents
  • Reviewing draft accounts for client approval and ensuring Companies House timelines are met
  • Coordinating tax returns (trust, corporation) and P11d preparation for clients
  • Attending client meetings and supporting continuous process improvement
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., ARMA-Q) and internal KPIs
  • Supporting the Team Leader and Head of Portfolio Accounting with reporting and governance

Key requirements
  • Experience in a similar block management accounts role
  • Understanding of regulatory framework (ARMA-Q)
  • IT literate (Outlook, Word, Excel) and property management packages
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
