Job Description
The Opportunity: Our client, a well-established manufacturer known for operational excellence and continuous improvement, is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead their facility operations. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant performance including production, maintenance, quality, safety, shipping, and scheduling. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience within a high-speed manufacturing environment and a proven track record of driving operational efficiency, cost reduction, and Lean initiatives.
This is a highly visible leadership role with significant impact on business performance and long-term strategic planning What You’ll Be Doing: Lead day-to-day plant operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and customer expectations are consistently achieved Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts to optimize operational efficiency and reduce costs Manage plant P&L and regularly review KPIs to identify performance trends and implement corrective actions Develop and execute strategic plans related to capital investments, resource allocation, and cost-saving initiatives Oversee all operational functions including safety, quality, scheduling, production, shipping, maintenance, and administration Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements Conduct regular safety walks and implement initiatives to improve safety performance year over year Lead, coach, and develop plant personnel through performance management, talent reviews, and ongoing training Facilitate weekly staff meetings and plant-wide communication sessions focused on operational performance and organizational alignment Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and external stakeholders Proactively resolve operational issues and drive long-term process improvements What You’ll Need to Be Successful: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Management, or a related discipline 7–10+ years of experience in operations, maintenance, engineering, or process improvement leadership roles Proven leadership experience managing teams within a high-speed manufacturing environment Strong experience working within a Lean Manufacturing environment Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is considered an asset Minimum 5 years of experience in process development and business process design Experience working with ISO or equivalent quality standards Experience implementing or managing structured operating systems such as Toyota Production System (TPS) or similar Strong commercial acumen with customer-facing experience Compensation Range: $150,000 - $170,000
