As an Intermediate Piping Engineer, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team delivering piping design and engineering solutions for major energy and process facility projects. You will be involved in design development, project execution and construction support while working closely with experienced engineers, designers and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review piping designs, specifications and engineering documentation.
  • Develop piping layouts, line lists, piping classes and material requisitions.
  • Review P&IDs, isometric drawings and 3D models.
  • Coordinate piping stress requirements with specialist engineering teams.
  • Produce material take-offs (MTOs), technical reports and engineering work packs.
  • Support procurement activities including vendor document reviews and technical bid evaluations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and coordinate with mechanical, process, civil, electrical and instrumentation teams.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling and engineering deliverables.
  • Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs and attending site visits when required.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable Australian and international engineering standards, safety requirements and quality procedures.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Eligible for or registered with Engineers Australia.
  • Approximately 5-7 years' piping engineering experience.
  • Previous experience within an EPCM and consulting/engineering design environment.
  • Strong understanding of piping systems, layouts and equipment integration.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing P&IDs, isometric drawings and piping layouts.
  • Knowledge of piping materials, fabrication and installation practices.
  • Working knowledge of ASME, API and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Experience coordinating piping stress analysis activities.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, CADWorx or similar piping design software.
  • Experience using Navisworks or equivalent model review software.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
