The Department of Pediatrics' Division of Neurology is seeking a full-time Advanced Practitioner Provider at CHRISTUS Children's, offering a faculty appointment, competitive salary, and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Obtain detailed patient histories and perform physical examinations.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures.
- Prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including orders and progress notes.
- Provide follow-up care according to established protocols.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and families.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members on patient care management.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner Candidate:
- Master's degree in Nursing.
- Current RN license in Texas.
- Texas Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN-NP).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Physician Assistant Candidate:
- Current PA license with the Texas Medical Board.
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
For both roles, experience with pediatric patients with chronic illnesses, knowledge of long-term medication management, and current BLS and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications are required.
