We are delighted to partner with a progressive, client-focused accounting practice based in East Cork in the recruitment of a part-time Accountant.

Our client prides themselves on delivering high-quality, personalised accounting and taxation services to a diverse portfolio of local businesses, including sole traders and small-to-medium-sized limited companies. The practice focuses entirely on non-audit services, ensuring a supportive and practical approach to our clients' financial needs.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Qualified Accountant to join a growing team. In this role, you will manage everyday prepare year-end financial statements, and handle income tax and corporation tax returns as well as VAT. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating directly with clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Preparation: Prepare statutory year-end financial statements for limited companies and sole traders to a high standard, ready for final partner review.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit periodic tax returns, including:
  • VAT and Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT)
  • Income Tax (Form 11 for sole traders and directors)
  • Corporation Tax (Form CT1)
  • Client Management: Act as a main point of contact for routine client queries, helping them understand their numbers and deadlines.
  • Revenue Liaison: Assist in managing communications and submissions with Revenue via ROS (Revenue Online Service).

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of PQE working within an Irish accounting practice.
  • Qualifications: CPA/ACCA, or qualified by experience.
  • Software Skills: Experience with SAP and Sage40 an advantage, strong MS Excel skills.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, excellent time management, and the ability to work independently.
