The School of Nursing is now accepting applications for multiple CUPE Instructor positions (SIM/Lab Instructors, Tutorial Leads, Clinical Instructors) for the fall term of 2026 (September 8 β December 4, 2026). Job Summary & Key Responsibilities Instructors are responsible for teaching and supervising BScN students who provide direct client care in clinical settings, work in a clinical skills and simulation lab or tutorial group environment. Tasks include lab demonstrations, marking and proctoring term tests and final examinations, and evaluating assignments.
Access to a computer with working internet for Microsoft Teams is required. Clinical Instructors report to the instructor of record for their course and work under CUPE Collective Agreement 3912 β Dalhousie University. https://cupe.ca/local/cupe-3912-dalhousie-university . Nurse Practitioner Teacher Responsibilities The NP Teacher, under faculty guidance, will support instruction and student learning in a graduate-level Nurse Practitioner program. Key responsibilities include delivering course content through lectures, seminars, and case-based activities, evaluating student performance, grading assignments, providing feedback, and supporting integration of clinical knowledge through simulation and applied learning. The role also involves mentoring students, participating in curriculum development, collaborating with faculty and clinical partners, and maintaining compliance with academic and accreditation standards.
NP Teachers may deliver content in person or virtually. Qualifications and Requirements For BScN program: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, active RN license with NSCN, two years of recent clinical experience, and clinical teaching experience (preceptorship). SIM training participation required for lab instructors.
Preference for applicants available for SIM/labs and clinical in same course. For Graduate program: Masters degree in relevant field, PhD candidate preferred. Additional Information All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
