Job Description
The Packaging Sales Manager will oversee and lead the activities of the sales team and have the ability to build and maintain a high-performing sales team to ensure customer satisfaction. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for creating and executing sales plans by leading, motivating and challenging the sales team in order to drive sales and GTM across the business. This position will also be responsible for recruiting, training and mentoring new sales representatives.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities Maintains a book of business Drives sales and GTM across the entire sales team Manages issues at the sales rep / sales manager level before escalating issues Maintains business ethics within the sales team Performs all coordination and training for sales reps, including the Green Rep program. Communicates pricing, product, and vendor strategies to the sales team Monitors customer sales analytics and identifies opportunities as well as business loss Works with the reps to address the opportunities for new business and/or retention. Serve as main point of contact for all sales reps regarding customer issues (quality calls, returns, etc.) Recruitment of new sales reps Collaborates with other department heads on sales solutions Learns company technology and trains team on technology updates High school diploma, or equivalency Undergraduate degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field, desired 5+ years of experience in sales management, including motivating and influencing a team of sales representatives Proven record of sales leadership experience Proven track record of success in outside sales Sales experience in the paper and/or packaging industry Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient with Microsoft Office applications or related software Strong supervisory and leadership skills; skilled at diffusing conflict Valid driver's license The Physical Requirements and Working Conditions section is intended to describe the nature of work and the minimum requirements of the job in general.
