As Operations Manager you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the business and delivering an exceptional product and service to our clientele.

Reports to : Ownership FLSA Classification : Exempt Core Tasks and Key Responsibilities Operations & Logistics: General management of daily operations.
Daily management of driver and operations team. Manage and overseeing the expediting of product from kitchen and manage packing vehicles. Manage delivery schedule and daily driver routes.
Ensure driver team are delivering and setting up product according to company standards as outlined. Correspond with clients in a timely manner regarding changes in times and any delivery issues. Internally problem solve issues with deliveries to ensure all teams are made aware of any changes.
You will have the authority to make on-the-spot decisions to resolve timing and delivery issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Ensure food and M&G product is delivered in perfect condition, maintaining product quality and company standards. Oversee all packing for daily drop off catering, ensuring the driver packing lists are completed daily.
Manage all packing for full-service events including styling items, kitchen and all beverages. Order and manage all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for events. Deliver, load in and set up for full-service events when needed.
Daily production ordering of disposables and catering production hardware and rental equipment. Ensure all company hardware and rental equipment are kept in clean working condition and manage inventory with hardware stock takes. Assist in Kitchen dry goods ordering if necessary.
Follow SOP’s as outlined for the Operations department in addition to updating and revising SOP’s under ownership guidance as needed. Staff Management: Manage weekly operations staff schedules. Manage rostering staff on event catering onsite when needed.
Establish and maintain a strong team of operations staff, including advertising and completing all hiring processes. Assist Executive Chef in hiring kitchen staff if needed. Train new staff members and implement appropriate systems to make sure this occurs.
Continue with ongoing training and development for operations staff. Set the standards and always lead by example to create a team atmosphere which is lively and casual but always working efficiently and professionally. Continually assess staff in the production department, identify strengths and areas needed for development, follow through on progress, complete performance reviews.
Manage operations staff issues, disputes, injuries, conflict resolutions, maintain company incident reports. Vehicle & Kitchen Maintenance: Manage M&G vehicle maintenance schedule and any vehicle related management including weekly cleaning. Manage Rental vehicles bookings.
Manage delivery tech systems. General maintenance: Making sure any maintenance issues are reported and fixed regarding the M&G space. General Management: Manage licensing and permits pertaining to the general running of the business.
File incident reports which relate to the Operations team as needed. Oversee opening and closing procedures at facility, health and safety procedures and department of health procedures. Ensure that a safe and clean environment is the norm and conduct daily walk throughs in morning and end of day.
Conduct daily walk through of the operation to determine areas which need attention or repair. Plan necessary upgrades in a timely, strategic way. Finances & Profitability: Keep daily track of the following costs via costs spreadsheets provided.
Production Ordering Beverage Ordering Operational Staffing Labor Costs Vehicles and automobiles Report on previous week costs to ownership during weekly COGS meeting. Upload vendor invoices and petty cash receipts on a daily basis. Collaborate with Ownership to track profitability and make data-driven recommendations for cost reductions or operational efficiencies.
Hours: Full time – generally 6am/7am to 3pm/4pm Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend work will be expected and hours may vary depending on the week and seasonality of business. Other Qualifications Relevant Knowledge, Skills, & Ability: 3+ years prior operational leadership experience in a hospitality and/or catering setting.
Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure, making well-thought-out decisions in high-pressure situations. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and areas of the business simultaneously is crucial. Ability to work autonomously and make educated decisions for the business.
A great knowledge of food and food processes. Communication and leadership skills are second to none. Extremely detail orientated, amazing time management skills.
Capable of delegating and overseeing multiple staff members concurrently. Experience in inventory management, supply chain logistics, and data analysis is a plus. Computer Skills: Google Docs, Word, Excel, Outlook.
Willing to go the extra mile when needed! Education/Experience: Bachelor degree preferred Work Environment: Involves being on your feet for most of the day. Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the kitchen, including food and beverage areas Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Must have current NY State Drivers License Must be able to drive and operate a catering van and box truck. This role thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and requires someone who enjoys tackling challenges head-on.
