Job Description
You’ll take full ownership of a small food production site (60 people) and shape it with your ideas, expertise, and leadership style. With direct backing from engaged Directors, you’ll influence every aspect of the operation - from food safety and quality standards to sustainability and long-term growth. And if the business performs well, you’ll benefit directly through profit sharing.
This is a high-impact opportunity to build your path towards becoming a Site Director within the next couple of years. On-site leadership means you’ll be at the heart of the action, driving standards, supporting your team and continuously improving performance. What you will do: You’ll lead all aspects of site performance, including production, customer service, and operational efficiency.
With safety always the top priority, you’ll take charge of health & safety leadership, ensuring a safe and compliant environment for all. Overseeing new product launches and key site improvement projects, you’ll keep the operation agile and forward-thinking. Your commercial focus will drive efficiency across labour, waste, energy, and cost control, balancing performance with profitability.
As a visible, approachable leader, you’ll engage and develop the site team, including recruitment and performance management, fostering a culture of high standards and continuous improvement. What you will need: Proven experience at General Manager, Factory Manager or Operations Manager level within food manufacturing Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP and food legislation Commercially aware, operationally focused and detail driven A visible, approachable leader who leads by example Comfortable working within a rural, close knit site environment About the company: They specialise in food production, farming and selling to a food manufacturer. The small site has around 60 people and a turnover between £2-3 million, making it a tight-knit team with a hands-on approach.
