Job Description

We are seeking a high-caliber Operations Manager to spearhead our production floor and drive strategic operational excellence. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee high-mix, low-volume CNC machining and assembly operations, ensuring that our output meets the rigorous precision and quality standards of the aerospace industry. The ideal candidate is a champion of Lean methodologies, a mentor to technical talent, and a disciplined administrator of regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership: Direct daily CNC machining and assembly workflows, optimizing throughput and resource allocation across multi-axis machining centers. Strategic Governance: Lead daily GEMBA walks and contribute high-level insights to weekly production and 360-degree cross-functional leadership meetings. Workforce Management: Provide direct leadership to a production staff of 50+, overseeing performance management, professional development, and comprehensive departmental scheduling (OT, PTO, and capacity planning).

Quality & Compliance: Serve as a primary stakeholder for AS9100 and NADCAP standards, ensuring all processes align with stringent customer-specific aerospace requirements. Systems Integrity: Maintain the accuracy of production travelers and ensure total data integrity within the ERP system. Continuous Improvement: Architect and implement Lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste, enhance machine utilization, and shorten lead times.

Safety & Stewardship: Own the site’s safety culture and environmental regulatory compliance, fostering a "zero-incident" mindset. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Sales, Quality, and Supply Chain to synchronize production schedules with evolving customer demands. Technical Mentorship: Cultivate a high-performance culture by mentoring Machinists, Assemblers, and Department Leads in technical best practices and operational discipline.

Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of CNC machining experience, with at least 3 years in a dedicated leadership role within an aerospace or similarly regulated industry Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and the fundamentals of CNC programming. Systems Expertise: High proficiency in ERP/MRP platforms and advanced production planning tools. Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex operational data into actionable strategies for diverse stakeholders.

Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field and/or relevant experience. Certifications Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing, or PMP certification preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
