Rembrandt van Wine | Paint & Clay events with a twist

LondonFull-timeMid LevelOn-site

Job Description

Operations & Event Manager at Rembrandt Sip & Paint

Rembrandt Sip & Paint is growing fast. We are looking for someone who can make sure our operations run just as smoothly as our events.

We organise creative paint & sip events where people get to (re)discover the artistic side with a glass of wine in their hand, both in our own studios and at external venues. We have two studio's in London, and we are looking to expand to other cities soon. We are looking for a self motivated, energetic and highly organised Operations & Event Manager who enjoys being right in the middle of the action.

Someone who keeps a clear overview, takes ownership and makes sure things simply get done.

What will you do?

You will be a key link between our guests, studios, staff and wider team. Your job is to make sure our day to day operations are organised, our studios are running well and every event goes smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Events from A to Z: Organise our public and private events from the initial booking through to the follow-up afterwards. You’ll make sure guests and staff have everything they need and that every event runs smoothly.

• Staff & scheduling: Create and manage the staff roster, communicate with our staff, and make sure the right people are in the right place at the right time.

• Studio operations: Make sure our studios look good, organised and fully stocked. You will notice when something needs fixing or improving and make sure it gets done.

• Customer enquiries: Keep track of incoming emails and whatsapp messages, respond to customers and make sure no enquiry gets missed. You will also follow up private event enquiries by phone and help turn enquiries into bookings.

• Purchasing & stock: Order supplies, keep track of inventory, receive deliveries and make sure we always have everything we need for upcoming events.

• New locations: We are looking to open new studios in new cities. You will be involved with the practical setup and fit out. You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty.

• Improve & grow: We are a small and growing business, so there is lots of opportunity to improve how we work. You will help us make our operations more efficient and come up with new ideas to make Rembrandt better.

• New concepts & partnerships: Work with us on new ideas and collaborations, whether that’s a paint & sip event on a canal, a singles event with a brand such as Hinge, or a completely new concept we haven’t thought of yet.

• Growing the business: Think beyond the day to day operation and help us grow. This could mean helping open new studios, developing new event formats, finding new partnerships or identifying new opportunities.

Who are you?

Above all, we’re looking for someone who takes ownership.

• Highly organised: You can keep track of multiple things at once and stay calm when things get hectic.

• A real doer: You see what needs to be done and get on with it without waiting for someone to tell you.

• A problem solver: Things will occasionally go wrong. You don’t panic, you find a solution.

• Commercially minded: You are interested in more than just keeping things running. You want to understand how the business works and help it grow.

• Independent: You are comfortable working autonomously and taking responsibility for your work.

• Great communicator: You can easily switch between guests, colleagues, suppliers and partners.

• Flexible: Many of our events take place in the evenings and at weekends, so you’re comfortable being available some evenings and weekends when required.

• Experience: Previous experience in operations, events, hospitality, sales or a similar role is a plus.

• Languages: You speak and write fluent English.

What we offer

• 24–32 hours per week, with flexibility around how you organise your hours.

• £32,000–£38,000 FTE, depending on experience and level of responsibility.

• Real responsibility and freedom: You will have the opportunity to make decisions and genuinely improve the way we operate.

• A fast growing company: Help us expand Rembrandt Sip & Paint into new cities and markets.

• Lots of variety: One day you might be organising staff and supplies, the next you could be working on a new concept or on a new studio.

• A fun, ambitious team: We work hard, enjoy what we do and are building something exciting together.

• Room to grow: As Rembrandt grows, your role and responsibilities can grow with it.

• Long term opportunity: You will start on a fixed salary. If we work well together and you become an important part of the growth of Rembrandt, there is the opportunity to discuss an equity arrangement in the future.

• And, of course, the occasional glass of wine

Start date: As soon as possible.
