Job Title: Regional Director of Operations
Location: Long Beach, California, 90805
Employment Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Shift: 5x8 (40 hours/week) – Shift is fluid based on operational needs
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Job Summary
A leading healthcare services organization is seeking an experienced Regional Director of Operations to provide strategic leadership and oversight across multiple operational functions within the region, including Sterile Processing, Transportation, and Facilities.
This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, developing site-level leadership teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards while aligning regional operations with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership oversight across Sterile Processing, Transportation, and Facilities operations
- Lead, mentor, and develop site-level Directors, Managers, and Coordinators
- Establish regional priorities, performance goals, and standardized operating procedures
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including AAMI, CDC, CMS, DOT, OSHA, and accreditation bodies
- Oversee audit readiness and maintain consistent adherence to quality and safety standards
- Standardize workflows and drive operational efficiency across multiple sites
- Own and monitor regional performance metrics related to quality, throughput, and efficiency
- Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective action plans
- Collaborate with clinical partners and health systems as the regional operational leader
Required Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Continuing education to maintain active certification in sterile processing
Required Certifications & Licensure
- CRCST or equivalent sterile processing certification (strongly preferred)
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of operational experience, including at least 5+ years in multi-site leadership roles
- Proven success managing multiple functions such as Sterile Processing, logistics, or facilities
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to develop leaders and drive performance through teams
- Experience scaling operations in high-growth or multi-site environments
- Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and leadership skills
