Operations Analyst – Trade Finance Duration: Long-term contract through July 2027 (extension and conversion potential) Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite; first 3 months onsite for training) Rate: $30-$38/hr Inc. Our client is seeking an Operations Analyst with Trade Finance expertise to support the processing, administration, and risk management of international trade transactions. The successful candidate will manage the lifecycle of Documentary Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, and related Trade Finance products while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and international trade standards.

Key Responsibilities: Process and manage Documentary Letters of Credit (LCs), Documentary Collections, and related Trade Finance transactions. Ensure transactions are completed in accordance with ICC rules, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, internal partners, and front-office stakeholders regarding Trade Finance products and transactions.

Conduct AML, ATF, sanctions screening, and compliance reviews to identify and escalate potential risks. Analyze transactions, resolve exceptions, and provide solutions that balance client needs with risk management requirements. Support transaction monitoring, operational controls, and risk mitigation activities.

Contribute to process improvements, workflow enhancements, and operational efficiency initiatives. Participate in reporting, analysis, and special projects related to Trade Finance operations. Required Qualifications: 3+ years of Trade Finance Operations experience within a financial institution.

Strong experience with Documentary Letters of Credit and Documentary Collections. Working knowledge of Trade Finance products, transaction lifecycle management, and operational processes. Experience with AML, ATF, sanctions screening, and Trade Finance compliance requirements.

Strong understanding of risk management and regulatory controls. Experience working directly with clients and business stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of ICC rules and regulations including UCP 600, URC 522, ISP 98, and URDG 758.

Experience handling Trade Finance exceptions, investigations, and risk assessments. Process improvement and workflow management experience. Bachelor's degree in Finance, International Business, or a related field.

CDCS and/or CSDG certification.
