Position: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – OpenShift Platform Consultant Duration: 12-month assignment (contract) Client Location: 36 Park Lawn Rd, Etobicoke, ON M8V 0E5 Canada Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only) About the Engagemen tAkkodis is seeking the services of an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) consultant to support the build, expansion, and operationalization of a Red Hat OpenShift platform environment for a large enterprise client. The engagement focuses on transforming the platform into a stable, production-grade environment while enabling internal DevOps teams to scale application delivery through automation, platform engineering, and operational excellence .The successful consultant will work as part of a dedicated platform engineering team responsible for the ongoing evolution, reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement of the OpenShift platform . Services to be Provi dedOperate, maintain, and optimize Red Hat OpenShift clusters in production environmen ts.Support platform reliability engineering initiatives and improve service resilien ce.Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practic es.Implement and support GitOps-based deployment and configuration management workflo ws.Integrate and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve application delivery veloci ty.Perform platform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resoluti on.Support cluster management, worker node operations, and lifecycle management activiti es.Execute platform patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities, including major OpenShift version upgrad es.Contribute to monitoring, observability, incident response, and operational governance process es.Participate in architecture assessments and platform roadmap initiativ es.Collaborate with DevOps, infrastructure, and application teams to improve platform capabilities and adopti on.

Expertise Req uired4–8 years of progressive experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, cloud operations, or related consulting r oles.2–4+ years of hands-on experience supporting Kubernetes and/or Red Hat OpenShift environm ents.Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experi ence.Experience with automation frameworks and Infrastructure as Code pract ices.Hands-on experience with Terraform and related automation too ling.Experience implementing or supporting GitOps methodologies and too ling.Familiarity with CI/CD concepts, pipelines, and DevOps pract ices.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident management capabili ties.Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration sk ills. Certifi cationsRed Hat OpenShift Administration Certif icationRed Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Adminis tration Nice to HaveExperience supporting enterprise-scale container pl atforms.Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and reliability metrics.Experience with monitoring, observability, and performance optimizatio n tools.Experience supporting regulated or mission-critical production envir onments.Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and platform modernization init iatives.
