Job Description
Nurse Lead: Sexual Assault Response Coordination Services (SARCS) Network Up to 3 years fixed term – 1 day a week. As per the Fixed Term Contacts Policy – individuals with continuous NHS service apply for fixed‑term contract roles PSD Scotland reserves the right to refuse such appointment. About the Organisation PSD Scotland combines NHS Education for Scotland and NHS National Services Scotland to support the renewal and long‑term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.
The organisation focuses on education, training, procurement, logistics, and vital national functions. The Post The role provides nursing leadership to the SARCS Network. The post holder will work closely with a range of stakeholders across health and social care, criminal justice organisations, people with experience of SARCS services and third‑sector and advocacy organisations.
The post holder will have a key strategic role in delivering national nursing leadership to ensure a coordinated approach to continuous improvement of SARCS. This includes supporting the delivery of holistic, person‑centred, trauma‑informed care to the highest standard in accordance with the Healthcare Improvement Scotland Standards. The role is crucial in engaging and corralling the collective needs of the nursing workforce within SARCS and national partners through the Network’s governance structure, mindful of the variety of local models operating across Scotland.
The Candidate Applicants should be leaders in nursing with experience of working at a strategic level, preferably nationally. They must have a proven record in leading service improvement, ability to work across organisational, geographical and professional boundaries, and a demonstrable understanding of network ethos. Experience of bringing a wide range of partners and agendas together regularly and leading through consensual collaboration is key to the role, as is an understanding of the complex needs of the affected population group.
Applicants must be NHS Scotland employees in a substantive role and have the support of their Nurse Director to incorporate this post into their job plan. The employing NHS Board will be reimbursed for the agreed sessional commitment based on evidence of actual back‑fill costs. Strong project management and IT skills would be desirable.
The successful candidate must undergo a PVG Scheme / Disclosure Scotland check. Those who have lived or worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years must provide a criminal record check from the relevant overseas agency. Current NMC registration is required.
