Employment Type: Locum tenens Nurse Practitioner Setting: Academic/training environment; outpatient neuro-oncology clinic Location: San Francisco, CA 94131 Start Date: September 14, 2026 End Date: March 15, 2027 Duration: 26 weeks Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5 shifts per week Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) Hours Per Week: 40 Estimated Weekly Pay: $5,600–$6,000 Patient Volume: Approximately 7–10 adult patients per day Patient Population: Adults Team Environment: Support from an attending physician, RNs, and a practice coordinator Job Requirements
Active California Nurse Practitioner license required California DEA with Schedule II/II-N privileges required Current AHA BLS certification required NP board certification required: A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC At least 1 year of relevant clinical experience preferred Strongly preferred: adult neuro-oncology experience Adult oncology, infusion center, or neurosurgery experience will also be considered Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings is a plus ONS certification preferred Ability to complete credentialing within the expected timeframe Responsibilities
Provide high-quality care for adult neuro-oncology patients in an outpatient setting Manage a steady daily patient load while maintaining excellent clinical standards Collaborate closely with the attending physician and multidisciplinary care team to support coordinated patient care Perform lumbar punctures when qualified and skilled Complete shunt checks and reprogramming when qualified and skilled Assess, evaluate, and manage adult patients with complex neuro-oncology needs Support efficient clinic flow and patient-centered outcomes Contribute to a positive, team-oriented academic care environment Benefits
