L2/L3 Protocol Development & C Programming

We are seeking an experienced Engineers/ Technical Leads specializing in L2/L3 Protocol Development and C Programming to lead the design and development of advanced networking solutions.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in C, Linux-based systems, and network protocol software development, with strong experience building scalable and high-performance networking features across platforms such as Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS, and SONiC NOS.

Work Location: Bangalore

Work Model: Hybrid Model (4 Days WFO & 1 Day WFH)

Notice Period - Immediate to 30 Days

Key Responsibilities:-

• Design, and development of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocol features.
• Drive end-to-end development of embedded networking software using C programming in Linux environments.
• Design, develop, debug, and optimize protocol stacks and networking functionalities for high-performance systems.
• Analyze and resolve complex issues in existing protocol implementations to improve reliability and scalability.
• Architect and optimize multi-threaded, socket-based, and embedded communication systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate features into Cisco operating systems (IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS) and SONiC NOS platforms.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams through design discussions and code reviews.
• Work closely with QA and support teams for validation, interoperability testing, and issue resolution.
• Create and maintain architecture documents, design specifications, and troubleshooting guides.

Required Skills & Qualifications :-

• 3–20 years of hands-on experience in L2/L3 protocol development and C programming.
• Strong expertise in C programming and Linux operating systems (Mandatory).
• Deep understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols.
• Strong experience in multi-threading, socket programming, and concurrent system design.
• Excellent knowledge of data structures, memory management, and software performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, and NX-OS platforms.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and modular software design for networking applications.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.

Preferred Qualifications:-

• Experience with SONiC NOS or other open networking operating systems.
• Exposure to high-performance embedded networking systems and distributed architectures.
• Prior experience leading technical teams or owning networking modules end-to-end.
