Network Operations Engineer - Nashville, 37203, United States of America We are seeking a Network Operations Engineer to join our IT Operations Team and support the stability, security, and performance of the UMG Global Network. This role focuses on hands-on network operations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across a large-scale enterprise environment. The ideal candidate has solid experience supporting enterprise networking environments, is skilled in troubleshooting and incident response, and can communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
This role is well-suited for someone who is technically strong and looking to continue growing within a global organization. Job Functions Network Operations & Incident Response Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents across WAN/LAN, data center, cloud, and remote access environments. Participate in incident response efforts, including root cause analysis and service restoration.
Escalate complex issues appropriately and collaborate with senior engineers when needed. Contribute to improvements in monitoring, alerting, and operational processes. Network Support & Optimization Support day-to-day operations of global WAN/LAN networks, cloud networking, and remote connectivity solutions.
Assist with firewall, VPN, and network security troubleshooting and configuration. Ensure network configurations align with established standards and best practices. Perform routine maintenance, patching, and upgrades following defined procedures.
Project & Implementation Support Collaborate with network engineering and architecture teams on projects and initiatives. Assist in the implementation of network services, upgrades, and site deployments. Support automation and operational efficiency efforts where applicable.
Documentation & Performance Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks. Support network performance monitoring and reporting. Assist in maintaining network reliability, redundancy, and compliance with security standards.
Collaboration & Team Support Work closely with cross-functional IT teams, vendors, and global partners. Share knowledge and contribute to team best practices. Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Job Requirements Essential 3โ6+ years of experience supporting enterprise WAN/LAN environments. Cisco Certification (CCNA or CCNP preferred). Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: routing/switching, VPNs, firewalls, DNS, and network performance.
Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Basic experience or exposure to automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot network issues. Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code or automation practices. ITIL Foundation Certification is a plus.
