Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client in the Midlands has a requirement for Multi-Task Attendants to be based in Co. Laois. The hourly rate of pay is €17.83 per hour.
Purpose of the Post To provide high quality Multi task attendant services and functions within a healthcare setting Be responsible for the cleaning of the environment within a healthcare setting. Collection and removal of waste material to authorised disposal points. Reporting defects or inefficiencies to supervisor Working as part of a team and on your own initiative to complete allocated duties.
Duties assigned to Multi-Task Attendants will vary depending on the care setting. Receive and process all IV fluid deliveries, check against purchase order/invoice/delivery docket and communicate to the purchasing department. Manage all stock in the IV fluid store (and any other temporary IV fluid store areas) including stock rotation, actioning batch recalls, safe storage, expiry date management, environmental recording, and remediation.
Perform a twice weekly stock check to generate a purchasing list. Additional care areas e.g. in surge or activation of the Major Emergency Plan would need IV fluids to be issued as demand dictates. Responding to surges in consumption e.g.
Winter viruses. Expiry date management of the IV fluids in the care areas. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Professional Responsibilities: Work in an assigned service area which includes Housekeeping and Support Services Providing supporting service response relating to fire evacuation and emergency plans as required Be contactable at all times when on duty Be responsible for undertaking hygiene and environmental duties to required standards in all designated areas and maintain appropriate documentation in line with national and local policies and regulations.
The agreed standard of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in all areas Adherence to Health and Safety Guidelines and obligations at all times. Ensure safe waste management is being always implemented within the Fluid Store. Transport of IV fluids between the IV fluid store and the Department.
Be available to deal with requests of add-ons or follow-ons for wards / care areas. Reconciliation / checking of any out of hours IV fluids transactions so that they can be inputted in HMMS, and the live-stock system be maintained. Collection of medicinal waste boxes for transport to appropriate holding area.
Support and actively participate in sustainable energy, water and waste initiatives. Documentation management including compliance with the Financial Regulations and archiving. Collection of green boxes from the wards on a daily basis.
Delivery of filled green boxes / bags to the wards / care areas three times per day, to facilitate timely administration of medications and facilitate retaining nursing staff in the care area. (i) Possess the relevant QQI Further Education and Training (FET) Level 5 Certificate in Health Service Skills. or (ii) FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Health Service Skills or Healthcare Support. or (iii) A relevant healthcare qualification. or (iv) Be currently employed an Attendant, Multi-Task or a comparable role and be willing to undertake a QQI/FET Level 5 programme in Health Service skills or equivalent. and (b) Candidates must have the personal competence and capacity to properly discharge the duties of the role.
