Overview Nationwide GC seeks a Superintendent for large Mission Critical or Distribution Warehouse builds. Salary: $100,000 - $175,000 per year. This Jobot job is hosted by: Ron Calhoun.

Responsibilities Takes ownership of all aspects of field activities from start-up to completion, including project safety, quality, schedule, planning, jobsite logistics, leading the on-site management team, subcontractor coordination, and risk assessment.

Maintains and tracks overall project schedule and creates task‑specific two‑three‑week look‑ahead; uses the schedule as a management tool to deliver projects on time. Provides real‑time data to PM/Scheduler for schedule maintenance. Ensures site safety requirements are met at all times, assists on‑site safety personnel, stops work when infractions occur, and counsels subcontractors and team members.

Trains project team members on Gray software such as CMO, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Concur, and E‑Time. Conducts site and weekly meetings to coordinate subcontractor activities, ensuring all teams work cooperatively and within the project schedule. Prepares monthly project reports tracking safety, schedule, subcontractor performance, quality, budget, and customer relations.

Collaborates with the PM team to ensure timely buyout of subcontracts and to manage procurement schedules. Leads, teaches, coaches, and trains subordinates in professional contractual relationships and fosters a jobsite safety culture per Gray’s safety program. Acts as a role model and holds the site team accountable for adhering to Gray policies and procedures while helping them achieve their goals.

Mentors and actively facilitates the growth of team members. Sets up and closes out construction sites. Walks the project daily to confirm work meets safety, quality, and schedule requirements.

Communicates early and often, providing consistent factual information to the project team, including the project manager, design manager, customer, site team, subcontractors, and field operations. Conducts required meetings, reviews drawings (shop, architectural, structural, etc.), and maintains a current set at all times. Studies project documents to ensure construction complies with plans, specifications, and the contract.

Reviews project budget with the Project Manager regularly, staying aware of financial impacts. Assists in developing scopes of work for review and approval by the Project Manager. Identifies and evaluates potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, and participates in pre‑award meetings.

Prepares various reports (cost to complete, monthly billings, status reports). Implements and executes project closeout and punch list procedures. Assumes ownership of the schedule after mobilization, ensuring proper management to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications Minimum of 8+ years related construction experience. Experience managing and directing on‑site project teams with overall responsibility for field activities, collaborating with design, project, and schedule management. Knowledge of large construction projects in Manufacturing, Food and Beverage, Automotive, Distribution, and Mission Critical markets, typically ranging from $10 mm to over $200 mm.

Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage and direct on‑site project teams to successful completions. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents. Strong people‑management skills.
