Position Summary:

The Mechatronics Engineer plays a pivotal role in developing innovative products from concept through to production. Working across mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software disciplines, you will design and deliver integrated solutions, collaborate with customers to define project requirements, and provide technical expertise throughout the product lifecycle. Success in this role requires strong technical capability, attention to detail, the ability to independently manage custom design projects, and a collaborative approach to delivering high-quality, reliable products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, prototype, and implement parts, assemblies, circuits, and software for new products, systems and automation solutions.
  • Assist with B2B project scoping and customer technical support.
  • Produce high-quality documentation for our products and custom designs, including schematics, drawings, BOMs, technical reports, data sheets, product descriptions, and manuals.
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company quality procedures.
  • Potential on-site installation work.
  • And other duties.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of mechatronics, automation, and control systems.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools – 3D modelling (e.g., Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD, SolidWorks), control software, and circuit design platforms.
  • Competency with embedded systems and developing microcontroller firmware.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and fluently.
  • Ability to create engineering documentation, explanatory and procedural documents, and technical reports.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to use hand tools and/or machines.
  • Ability to liaise with B2B customers to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise.
  • Experience with system-level design and managing custom design projects.
  • Understanding of 3D printing, CNC Machines, robotics, or small-scale high-tech engineering is highly desirable.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering is preferred. Related fields may also be considered, e.g., degree in Mechanical Engineering with good fundamentals of electronics.
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in mechatronic or automation system development
  • Experience with robotics, industrial automation, or manufacturing systems is highly desirable.
