Mechanical Technician

Location: Argyll & Bute, West Coast Scotland

Contract: Approx. 8 weeks

Hours: 37 hours per week

Pay Rates (holiday pay included): £24.40 (includes holiday) x1.5 Sat x2 Sunday.

Start: Immediate / ASAP

Overtime: Potential overtime available

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to support a short-term recruitment requirement with a client in Argyll & Bute.

The successful candidate will provide mechanical maintenance and engineering support, ensuring daily maintenance schedules are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance.
• Complete general mechanical engineering and maintenance tasks.
• Support the daily maintenance schedule and ensure work is completed within required timescales.
• Identify and report mechanical faults and maintenance requirements.
• Work safely and in accordance with site procedures and relevant legislation.
• Maintain appropriate records and documentation.

Essential Requirements

• Relevant recognised technical/mechanical qualifications or certifications – evidence of certification will be required.
• IOSH-level safety certification as a minimum.
• Relevant mechanical maintenance experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• A fit-to-work medical would be advantageous.

Security Clearance:

Security Clearance (SC) may be required for this assignment. This will be confirmed prior to commencement.

Working Hours & Overtime

• The standard working week will be 37 hours, with an approximate 13:00 finish on Fridays.
• There may be opportunities for additional overtime during the assignment.
• The initial requirement is expected to be approximately 8 weeks, subject to operational requirements.
