Job Description Job Description Senior Mechanical Engineer Location: Near University of Chicago (Chicago, IL) Salary: $110–115K base (flexible; up to $120–125K for lead/mentorship experience) We are partnered with a stable, growing manufacturer of commercial loudspeaker and audio communication systems to add a Senior Mechanical Engineer to their team. This individual will operate at a senior/lead level, playing a key role in product design and engineering execution, with a clear path to becoming a subject matter expert within the organization. Key Responsibilities Lead mechanical design and development of commercial audio products from concept through production Design and engineer sheet metal components, enclosures, brackets, and assemblies for speaker systems Create and modify 3D models, drawings, and detailed documentation for manufacturing Evaluate designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and performance optimization Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new and existing products Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to product design and production processes Serve as a technical resource and mentor to junior engineers as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment Strong experience with sheet metal design, fabrication methods, and related processes Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
