Job Description Job Description Mechanical Design Engineer – Aerospace Interior Systems (2 Openings) Location: Chatsworth, CA (Onsite) Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (Pacific Time) — 4x10 schedule Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire About Our Client Our client is a privately held aerospace manufacturer based in Chatsworth, CA, founded in 1986. They design and build mission-critical aircraft interior systems and ground support equipment — including galley inserts, water heaters and water systems, EGT wiring harnesses, and ground support equipment — for commercial and business aviation customers. The Opportunity We're recruiting two Mechanical Design Engineers on behalf of our client to support new product development, from detail design through qualification and certification.

This is a strong fit for an engineer who enjoys owning a design end-to-end and working closely with manufacturing, test, and program teams. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Must have Minimum of 4 + years’ experience in product design, development and testing of products for Aerospace Prefer design & development of interior aircraft components & systems with materials like: sheet-metal, machined and plastic parts & assemblies.

SolidWorks experience is required. Knowledge of product data management and FE analysis. Complete proficiency with Engineering Change Management Experience developing qualification & test reports Responsibilities: Design & Development of components, assemblies, and subsystems for new product development per company and customer specifications.

Perform detail design using SolidWorks to generate 3D CAD models, detail drawings & generate analysis reports per the company, customer specifications and applicable design standards. Prepare Qualification test plans, similarity reports, acceptance test procedures, qualification test reports & other engineering documentations to support the qualification & certification of products per the applicable FAA and RTCA DO160 guidelines. Develop and improve the design processes; create best practices & implementation across the projects.

Review design, and manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable industry and company standards. Process ECO/ECN and implement design changes on assigned products, generating drawings and documents and release them in EPDM system. Devise and implement proof of concept prototype test plans, conduct tests; data collection and test report generation to support the designs.
