About the Opportunity

This opportunity is for experienced Mechanical Engineering professionals interested in contributing to advanced AI research and evaluation projects involving real-world mechanical engineering workflows.

The role focuses on evaluating AI-generated engineering content, technical designs, and problem-solving outputs while applying professional engineering judgment to assess accuracy, feasibility, and technical quality.

You'll leverage your expertise in mechanical design, equipment development, system analysis, technical documentation, and engineering evaluation to help improve the capabilities of next-generation AI systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate AI-generated mechanical designs, technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation for quality and accuracy.
  • Compare AI-generated outputs based on engineering rigor, design feasibility, and technical correctness.
  • Review engineering scenarios involving equipment design, system troubleshooting, and compliance with specifications.
  • Assess engineering recommendations for practicality, performance, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Provide detailed written feedback on engineering reasoning, calculations, and design decisions.
  • Identify technical errors, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement in AI-generated content.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality engineering evaluation benchmarks and training datasets.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Product Engineer, Project Engineer, Test Engineer, or a related mechanical engineering role.
  • Experience designing, evaluating, maintaining, or optimizing mechanical products, systems, or equipment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to evaluate engineering solutions and identify design, performance, or compliance issues.
  • Strong written English communication skills.
  • Ability to commit 20+ hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD software, product development, manufacturing processes, or system design.
  • Background in industrial, automotive, aerospace, consumer products, energy, or related engineering sectors.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards, testing methodologies, and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience reviewing technical reports and engineering deliverables.
  • Interest in AI-assisted engineering workflows and technology evaluation.
