Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, repair and fault-finding to support the refurbishment, maintenance and upgrade of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing, diagnostics, repair, maintenance, modification and calibration of mechanical equipment.
- Fault-finding and repairs through to component level.
- Working from engineering documentation, ASI and OEM data.
- Surveying equipment and recommending repairs, refurbishment and modifications.
- Supporting reverse engineering and development of test procedures.
- Providing technical advice and supervising junior staff/apprentices.
- Working within engineering governance, safety and quality standards.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Mechanical maintenance, repair and fault-finding experience.
- Ideally from a Defence, aerospace, GSE or heavy engineering background.
- Level 3/4 engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship/advanced or higher apprenticeship.
- Eligible for EngTech registration under UK-SPEC.
- Experience with testing, diagnostics, calibration and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
